Fear and limited thinking are holding you back from becoming your best self.

Being stuck in scarcity mode feeds the beast of negative self talk, pessimism, helplessness and can hold you back from achievement.

BUT…WHAT IF YOU HAD THE POWER TO CHANGE THE RECORD?

Living in abundance means realizing the endless potential in yourself and others.

When you expand your perspective and develop an abundance mindset, you can open your life up to limitless opportunities.

Author and leadership coach, John Maxwell describes that developing an abundance mindset is part of a deep inner sense of individual worth and is part of your personal growth journey.

John describes the importance of an abundance mindset in his leadership series called ‘Minute with Maxwell:’

So, what is an abundance mindset?

It means to see an infinite possibility in life.

In other words, you can see the possibility in yourself, and everyone around you. As a result, with purpose you push yourself forward to making the life you want.

As the Buddha wisely shares “The mind is everything. What you think, you become.”

So, viewing the world from a position of abundance can have quite a few positive effects on your life.

Here’s how you can make a shift from scarcity to an abundance mindset:

1.Be grateful and focus on what you have. View the glass as half full instead of half empty.

If you have been thinking about switching careers but haven’t done anything about it, you may have thoughts of scarcity like:

  • There are no jobs out there. I can’t do it.
  • I don’t have the skills or what they are looking for.
  • Who am I kidding – I don’t have enough skills or experience?
  • It’s too competitive out there.

These are all statements based on scarcity – I am not enough and focuses on what you don’t have.

Instead, rig your self talk in favour by stating:

  • Look at me! I have 25 years experience and companies need my skills.
  • I am very well connected and can use my network to search for the right opportunities.

By flipping your focus on examining what you have, you are on your way to making the shift from scarcity to abundance.

2.Create an inner circle that consists of people with an abundant attitude.

Attitudes rub off – good or bad. It’s time to re- examine your social network and only surround yourself with like minded people.

People who lift you up and understand how to take their mindset to the next level by stepping into a world of endless possibilities.

Scarcity causes people to think that there is not enough to go around. This mentality causes folks to compete rather than work together.

They look out for their own selfish interests, rather than look for opportunities to support others. They tend to hoard resources like money or power instead of sharing what they have.

Tony Robbins thoughts about having an abundance mindset is simple, but powerful:

“The quality of a person’s life is most often a direct reflection of the expectations of their peer group.”

Re evaluate your peer group and ask yourself if you feel the need to become a better version of yourself because of the influence and positivity that surrounds you.

3.Incorporate GRATITUDE into your everyday life!

Oprah said it best when she shared her thoughts on gratitude:

“If you look at what you have in life, you’ll always have more. If you look at what you don’t have in life, you’ll never have enough.”

Practicing gratitude is not only one of most widely recognized method for enhancing your well being but will also support your transition from scarcity to abundance.

One tip is to write down 5 things you are grateful for everyday. Little things are the most powerful. For example:

  • The beautiful flowers in the park.
  • The butterflies in your garden.
  • A mindful hike in nature

Gratitude improves your mental and physical well being and impacts your overall happiness. Practicing gratitude will strengthen your appreciation for the world around you.

Gratitude boosts optimism and looks at your life through a lens of abundance.

I have shared many reasons why a scarcity mindset is toxic for your overall well being. It limits your thinking and makes it difficult to go after what you really want.

In order to transform this fear and limited thinking, you need to invite abundance into your life, and it will set you free.

Free from self judgement and vicious self talk.

In other words, …

STOP FEEDING YOUR SCACITY MINDSET BY CONTINUING TO BE YOUR OWN WORST ENEMY!

Abundance encourages positivity, which allows you to feel like you have what it takes to transform and move yourself to the next level, with no judgment.

Only love and respect for yourself and others.

Remember, an abundant thinker believes there is always enough to go around and…

  • Collaborates to stay ahead.
  • Is generous with others.
  • Shares knowledge and helps others because it’s the right thing to do.
  • Builds a solid circle of like-minded people.
  • Believes the best is yet to come.

Remember, there is always enough to go around!
